Depends, Italy seems to be pulling back a bit while the UK in general because of all it's institutions losing authority in the eyes of its population is on a knife edge of getting worse or a big push back.
There's similar signs of pushback happening in Nordic countries too as well as the Red State pushback in the US. It's not all black pill/doomer but it's extremely close, you won't win everywhere and those places need to be left to rot than have them drag others down to the abyss.

Isn't the UK also in rather dire financial straits?
I think it's more mismanagement than anything, by perspective, I don't think they have anywhere the same kind of debt the US has
