Currently watching a livestream for a conference. Big, international organization, and yet the stream is disastrous...
I remember these same issues from conferences I have been to, in-person, myself. The stream almost always failed in some way. And this is the same shit.
It's like, it's so bloated, and so tech-illiterate, as to be almost completely unusable. And yet it's ubiquitous. Eugh...
Congratulations, you now hate normies and understand why people online hate them, they ruin everything. I know this is about streaming but it applies to just about every entertainment medium now. While it's partially a good thing that this sort of stuff is so accessible to everyone now it also means the markets have become over-saturated to the extreme with crap just because something is 'popular' doesn't necessarily mean it's good.
If you want the good shit, you go for the niche stuff. I realised this after awhile post 2017 which is when I feel the games industry just fucking died off for the most part and crappy title after crappy title gets released. Looking at niche creators gives me far more hope than anything produced for the masses these days.
Back to streaming again as well, if you look at what the kids are watching these days that isn't shameless thottery even if you come across a stream with good quality it's usually someone screeching into an extremely expensive microphone that could pick up a mouse underneath the floorboards.
Amen. I agree with Ross Scott's take on new games. It always makes me feel out of touch with gamers when I hear people complaining how there just aren't any good games being made. If you're only looking for big budget corporate slop designed for the masses, then that's what you'll get. It's like listening to FM Radio and complaining that today's music is shit.
Yeah, unfortunately I wasn’t involved in any of the organizing of this, lol… I was just “attending” the session…
So I had literally no choice in any of that, whatsoever.
Not that I disagree in any way. It just wasn’t something I was able to choose or influence, unfortunately…
They absolutely sucked at the tech aspects (the organizers, this is), though, so there’s no way they would have been able to figure out a more “complex/less normie-friendly system, from their end, lol…
They managed to fuck this up, to a remarkable extent, which I would have thought takes some doing, ha.
