The Switch had an excellent launch, but now Nintendo is just dripfeed central. The success of the Mario movie means they're going to focus more on shallow "Look! It's <1-dimensional character> on the big screen!!" and less on games.
It's the first time I'm not excited for a mainline Zelda game. If it ends up being shit like it looks, Nintendo is dead to me.
Yeah, this to me doesn't scream success at all, it's telling me they've run out of ideas. With the steam deck release too that's going to eat quite badly into their switch sales regardless of the legions of nintendo fanbois they have as people realise they can get a much wider selection of games at a cheaper price.
Adding to that as well the steam deck isn't closed source shite so it can be used for way more things than gaming and could easily function as it's own desktop PC with a fresh windows install.

Err.... Whut.
You realize that the Switch is already in the top 3 most selling consoles of all time, right?
The Steam Deck will probably not even sell more than the Wii U in its entire lifetime; Valve has never been known for their hardware sales and has not released any actual sales numbers for the Deck, but people are estimating it to only be around 1 million sold or so, compared to the Switch's 120+ million by now. The Switch only needs to sell another 30 million to become the number 1 selling console of all time, overtaking the PS2. I don't even like or own a Switch, but they could literally stop selling Switches tomorrow and Nintendo would still have zero problems. They can survive off its software sales alone at this point.
I've also taken a look at the Deck... it seems like a total mess, I don't know why you would want to use that thing as a desktop PC over a gaming laptop with much better specs, ports, storage, an actual physical keyboard and non-shit touchpad, and a screen larger than 7 inches, or a cheap desktop PC using the same logic.
Which I would argue is probably a massively overinflated number, because so many people had to buy a second one because they were so poorly built.
Everyone in my circle of game-playing friends had to replace their PS2 (and XBox 360, for that matter) within 3 years so that their purchased games and accessories didn't become useless.
In the 20 or so years the PS2 has existed, I've personally had to buy 5 of them because of how faulty they are after a while. Which wouldn't be a problem if the emulation for it wasn't spotty.
Compared to every Nintendo console where emulating them during their lifetime is usually possible and even preferrable in many cases.
