I've often said I think that some amount of social violence at this point is necessary for the establishment of base lines of behavior. The problem is when you take that so far that you actually start killing people for minor slights.
The problem is that there is no max end point. The people who end up dominating the honor culture are simply the most hypersensitive and violent. You can't defend others against them, otherwise the honor conflict expands.
That doesn't solve the problem either. You can't kill the parents for potentially creating a violent and hypersensitive child; when society is already violent and hypersensitive as a matter of course.

The point is violence should be committed in defence against those people.
Aka they fuck around, and they find out. Eventually, they'll all get killed off and we won't have nearly as much crime
