It’s also interesting the extent to which they seem to know a whole other goddamn language. A few weeks back a black woman in my school was upset about a woke professor trying to make her redo an application letter to a prestigious position by taking out all her actual accomplishments and instead portraying herself as a traumatized victim of systemic this/that/the other. The black woman was driven to tears because she was upset that the alleged anti-racists at our school don’t see her as a human capable of achievement but as a vector of traumas and all the other lefty theoretical BS.
But to my point, when she told a group of us this story, the lefty in the group was ready with lines like “your experience is valid” and “thank you for feeling safe enough with us to share your trauma.” This lefty was former military too, and I guarantee you the lefty didn’t hear that in Baghdad, but has since picked it up. Of course that kind of language is ultimately noise signifying nothing: basically, “pour your heart out, girl, while I do absolutely nothing to help because it would mean arguing that my side’s philosophy is total bunkum.” But I was amazed at how this person was speaking English, and yet not really speaking the English of the people, kind of the Simpsons joke about Australian English: “I recognize all those words but they don’t make sense in that order.”
TLDR: Modern white leftism really is a bit of a cult, with an in-group superiority (ironically paired with a core tent of the cult being that their own group is really shitty; the superiority comes from the fact you “know” that and act as an ally to other groups.)
It really is like a religious cult thinking they're the only ones "being saved"/virtous, while asking all "original sin"ners/whites to repent/apologize. Also the whole pray/doing absolutely nothing and being victims of oppression is striking.
RamZPaul was talking about this in a recent episode. He made a very interesting point that "ideology" as a concept didn't exist before the Enlightenment. Before that people simply had religion, which provided a moral framework and a complete, self-contained understanding of the world. All "ideology" is is a religion without a deity.
"Gosh why do you have to make everything so POLITICAL!"
It has a weird effect. I think the only time I have seen a black guy win without anyone even noticing he was black was Reggie Fils Aime. There really were points where journalists would demand to know why Nintendo wasn't diverse enough without even realizing he is black. He's not only black, he's freaking Haitian and grew up in the Bronx.
