Except the Democrats and this administration are literally the reason he invaded in the first place.
Yes... because Biden showed weakness in Afghanistan.
He didn't invade during Trump's presidency because either he thought Trump was too much of a wildcard or - if you believe Trump - Trump said he would bomb Moscow.
All the more reason why backing Trump was not the wise move.
Look up all the shit around the Euromaiden coup and Obama and Nuland
yeah bro I don't need to "look up" Russian state media propaganda and lies. You don't know anything but the bullshit you've seen repeated in this sub.
Euromaidan was the true democratic will of the Ukrainian people, and Viktor Yanukovych was a russian puppet.
Euromaidan started out as protests. Then Yanukovych stupidly acted like an authoritarian and started having security forces violently attack the protestors plus outlawing protest with "Dictatorship Laws". This only caused the protests to get bigger.
Police then killed over 100 protestors by opening fire on them. Protestors produced proof of Russian involvement in suppressing them by sending MVD soldiers. Security forces repeatedly used arson against buildings used by the protestors.
The repressive government collapsed because, as is commonly the case, high ranking members of the government became disgusted with the wanton murder of protestors & resigned or otherwise defected such that the government lost its ability to continue to escalate with violence. Thus, on 2/21/14, the Yanukovych was forced to compromise after having refused to negotiate up to that point.
Yanukovych & his top allies then - despite the situation having been resolved - immediately fled to Putin. Not because he feared for his life, but rather because he wanted Putin to back his restoration as a dictator.
So that's the true story I had to educate you on. feel free to look it up on wikipedia and elsewhere, just don't think the Russia bots in this sub screeching MUH NULAND are telling you the truth. Their only evidence is a wiretapped phone call where Nuland discusses who she thinks the best candidates are for the new government in a context that makes it clear that the US was not involved at all.

The Kievan people. Nobody on this site should be in favour of this when our own capitals - London, Washington, etc - have the same demographic vulnerability. Democracy means everyone's vote counts equally, not just those sitting at the foot of the seat of power.
Kiev was the center of protest but subsequent elections have confirmed that all of Ukraine outside of the Donbas & Crimea turned against Russia.
The "pro Russia" vote was only 13% at most in later presidential & parliamentary elections, and most of that vote came from the Donbas areas affected by the war.
