“One of the many disservices done to young people by our schools and colleges is giving them the puffed up notion that they are in a position to pass sweeping judgments on a world that they have barely begun to experience.” Thomas Sowell
I recently saw a news report where high school kids walked out of class to protest a bill that banned “sex changes” until a person is 18. Of course the media framed it as brave activists fighting “transphobia” but you see this with all the lefty talking points. Gun control, race, sex, lgbt, etc. Someone needs to tell these kids that it isn’t brave to support what is popular and trendy. I have more respect or young people who speak up for free speech, pro-life causes, or who don’t despise the western world because it isn’t popular to do so. During the summer of love I saw teens with signs claiming to be fighting for equal rights and I would’ve loved to have asked them what specific rights they are being denied. I’d love to ask modern day feminists or gay activists that question as well since “people will die” if you don’t celebrate or affirm.
To be fair I was a know it all teenager once and now I happily take any advice my parents want to offer so I guess it’s the cycle of life for most people.
I went on a week-long cruise the week this was a thing in 2012. I literally got back and everyone was talking about the shitshow it had turned into.
It is so weird because it was apparently this viral thing that I have no context for. I might as well have been in a coma. I know the song 'Jackin' it in San Diego' from South Park is about it but... again, no idea.
Africa gonna Africa, child soldiers, people got worked up about this specific one for a bit and then it went away.
That's it.
