So... what are the reasons they listed? There are genuine reasons to agree with the assessment, but if they say "diversity and inclusion" even once in there, they can fuck off.
1 Solid Continuity- power rangers is very loosely connected to each other, Super Sentai on the other hand have a lot of crossovers with each other. With one of my favorite being a movie that is essentially one giant SRW stage in live action
2 The Morphin' Grid(aka the base). TO each their own, but I prefer henshin devices more than the base. The last base I like from sentai was deka, but then their base is essentially a giant robot.
3 New Wave Comics: dont read comics so no clue on that. But sentai generally don't do manga spin offs. That's more off kamen rider's thing.
4Mighty Mighty Zords: It's a catchall term coined originally for power rangers. It's honestly redundant.

This is both a blessing and a curse. Its great if you are a long term fan who can appreciate and get all these things. But if you aren't it makes it just a game of "LOOK WE SAID THE NAME OF GUY YOU LIKE CLAP PLEASE" that you don't even get or "you better have seen the 3 ongoing series and the previous 9 or this won't make sense."
1 and 3 are definitely a "to each their own" sort of thing; I think both continuities have their ups and downs from what I know of both; I don't read comics either. #2, it's not like Power Rangers doesn't use the devices, but I suppose the "Morphing Grid" is simply a way to explain where the power comes from, which the devices are accessing, not a big deal though. Not sure why #4 is a reason, it's not like Power Rangers had their own robots that Super Sentai didn't, and having their own special term is hardly a big deal.
IGN's entire point is to be the first result when you google a game walkthrough with their own sometime's actually pretty decent version, and to be an easily paid shill for companies to get a review score.
Everything else is just to keep up appearances.
Sometimes they’re admittedly decent but sometimes they’re “try to dodge so you don’t take damage” tier.
True. But they are often the only ones with a full set of screenshots to accompany their guides. Which is a much better in between from the common gamefaqs text guide or video youtube one for things like finding random collectibles in certain games.
I know of the original power rangers. Did they rip off Super Sentai?
The "original Power Rangers" was based on/used footage and costumes from Zyuranger, the sixteenth Super Sentai series.
Thanks. I figured it was inspired by something from Japan. I thought it borrowed from Voltron as well.
I definitely need to check that out. I played with my Voltron action figure a lot as a kid and watched the cartoon.
I hope you're joking
Power Rangers came out when I was in middle school so my friend and I would watch to look at the pink and yellow ranger but it wasn’t a bad show. The morphing segments kind of reminded me of Voltron.
I’m a normie when it comes to power rangers but am now interested in Super Sentai.
IGN lives for contrarian opinions and they love to crap on original versions of woke remakes.
Plus these are the type of people that insisted that ghostbusters wasn’t really that great when the female reboot came out. Also I remember the narrative that Empire Strikes back was not that well received when TLJ came out
Psst
Zyu Yellow was a man
The Asian lady? I think she died.
Ohhh. The Rangers gender swapped rhe character
Thuy Trang (Trini in Power Rangers), yes, she died in an accident in 2001, I believe. But Zyu Yellow was literally a man. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VqVTL8SAjrc
Cool! I’ll check it out
Why?
Powers Rangers was always bored-out-of-your-minds spandex kung fu for little kids and the villains (Rita lol) were mental midgets. In fact, everyone was a mental midget of some sort or the other.
