I’ve never really had much French food outside of deserts but would love to try it. Italian food is all over the place. Plus having southern roots and a grandfather from the country in east Texas I’ve had possum, chitlins, raccoon, squirrel, etc. so I’ve had food from very fine cuisine to roadkill.
But whenever I hear that I think the same thing you do. Look at all the food from Europe and rethink that statement
You know why a lot of people haven’t had French cuisine? Because it’s fucking expensive.
Criticizing white food for being bland is like criticizing white culture for being trailer trash. If you can’t afford to live in an expensive white neighborhood, your assessment of white culture might be incorrect lol
Very true. Plus with every French restaurant I’ve seen they charge a lot and give you small portions.
There's a place to get French cuisine at reasonable prices: At home.
Seriously, there's a million recipes online. Even the meal kit delivery guys often have French options.
But to be honest, American cuisine (high-end, mind) has cribbed all the good elements of French cuisine. A good high end American place, and a good high-end French place, will look VERY similar. The key in French cuisine is in the sauces, and American cuisine doesn't mind using some amount of French sauces in their dishes.
Thanks
