Rules: Keep discussion non-political, on-topic and relevant to the University community and student body.
“Lol nah, you should ALL attend these protests [which aren’t really a “protest”, more a “deplatforming”], and if you don’t, you’re a horrible transphobic bigot who should be cancelled.”
"political topic X isn't political!!! (because we say it should be a given/a right/we say so)"
..Always some excuse, and none to keep them accountable. Mainstream social media discussions are over. Only thing left to do is hint at an alternative, to keep in the back of their mind, while you get them to incriminate themselves and eat each-other. Since it's impossible to stay 100% woke, a hundred percent of the time.
And while sure, I guess that’s probably closer to what I personally think a men’s toilet should be used for (if a “man” is gonna use makeup, they can probably put it on at home, tbh), that’s really not the point…
It’s just not the place to be doin’ these things. 🤷🏻♂️
If it's an official Facebook student group you should screenshot the offending posts, archive them if possible, and file an official complaint about the behavior of the moderators of this group to the university.
It’s an idea, but given my Uni is promoting “drag queen bingo” and has special “rainbow and transgender flag” crossings, I doubt I’ll get very far, sadly…
Already battling student admin on access to study spaces (because they’ve massively restricted campus access outside teaching hours, because they can, and it’s hugely inconvenient for everyone), so…
Being as much of a nuisance about it as you can is fun and based though. Even if you don't win you will no doubt waste more people's time than your own.
On the note of this “other” battle (mainly), you know how there’s always some suck ups who turn up to defend any decision an entity makes, even if it is objectively bad (as in, we’re students - what is bad for me is bad for them, too)..?
Yeah, that…
“I like being forced to study at home!”
“I love that we can’t access the same facilities anymore!”

That’s where we’re at. Madness…

I just said “Maybe trying to shut your enemies down, instead of actively engaging in discussion, isn’t the most constructive approach..?”
Plus the bit about “perhaps this isn’t the appropriate group for this post” - Boom, ban, lol…
But to be fair, I see these young men doing their makeup in the University library bathrooms (yeah, really), so maybe I’m just “old”… 🤦🏻♂️
Ah, “Student Life”…
Because that’s why we have sinks and mirrors in the Men’s - to do our makeup, right? 💅🏻💄
🤦🏻♂️
Nah mate, they'a theh to empteh ya bladduh afta a roight pissa with the lads, innit
I mean, it’s the campus library…
Wouldn’t exactly think that was ideal either, tbh… 🤷🏻♂️
Pisstake or otherwise.
But go off.

I think they just linked to that article, said “Get yourself eddducated” and then banned me, lol…
Because again, engaging in discussion is not their strong point, evidently… 😑
But yeah, essentially the same idea, hey… 🤦🏻♂️

Maybe. Trying to pick my battles tbh! 😂

People are… Strange.
Here’s an example of one of these “protests”: https://m.facebook.com/events/893597035010187/
Silence thine enemy. Do not even let them speak. Try and ruin their life. Destroy anyone who speaks out against you.
Yeah, this is “sustainable”… Only ever ends well, right?
How the fuck did we get to the point where simple disagreement, even within a University context, is not allowed…
Man…
File a formal complaint with the university. Though they'll probably say that student groups are completely unaffiliated with the uni administration.
I genuinely don’t think they’ll care, tbh…
But yeah.
I don’t think it’s necessarily an “official” student group, so I imagine they’ll just wash their hands of it…
Besides, “official” Uni policy is that disagreement is heckin transphobia anyway, so…
This does quite literally align with the “party line”…
Unfortunately.
