Is "Avatar: The Last Airbender" any good for kids?
posted 3 years ago by BlightBane 3 years ago by BlightBane +15 / -0

Got it recommended by a normie, so I am suspicious. Especially since it is Nickelodeon, but it is also from 2005-2008, so maybe it is not woke. Still can be shit though, which is why I am asking.

I disagree, it is an 'action' show but not violent.

Zero blood in the entire thing, usually only robots getting attacked. A lot different from Avatar and other cartoons.

There was zero blood because the censors demanded it for the target audience. blood was replaced with oil, limbs were replaced with parts, but it still very much a hack and slash fest. My main issue rewatching it as an adult was that almost every episode was an excuse to get to the fight scene. The quality and substance of the writing varied from episode to episode, but it got so predictable that I am not surprised that it got canceled.

I mean yeah it is a kids show, they have short attention spans and like seeing flashing colors and movement.

If there weren't so many fights kids wouldn't really like it, and yeah they made it censored for kids so it isn't a problem to show to pre-teens.

I mean you kind of want kids shows to be predictable, that is the audience they made it for.
