Scene: very busy medical facility of many floors with constantly jammed up elevators; signage - ONLY 4 PERSONS PER ELEVATOR - covid restrictions. There's always a queue for the lift as they over and over again already have people in them; the queue grows.
Elevator arrives empty, 5 of us waiting, everyone piles in except #5 who is the husband of a lady who proclaims that he is in excess of the four person rule and cannot board/also she doesn't know which floor they are going to.
The elevator doors closed, husband left behind.
Woman is compelled to explain to us trapped with her that he was excluded because of the maximum person rule and they make rules for a reason (she seriously said that). No one responded. We got off in the parking garage. I hope she found her way out.
The general public does not have the good sense god gave a goose.
At least a third, potentially a majority of the British public would like restrictions to be as harsh, if not worse and made permanent according to a recent survey on the back of The Lockdown Files being leaked by The Telegraph. I fear most people want their freedoms curtailed for the perception of safety (they'll get neither) and actively want to be treated like a servant for the state whilst having every aspect of their life controlled and the removal of any autonomy. Frightening.
Funnily enough they could easily live their dystopian fantasies. But that's not what they want. They want to force others to live their dystopian fantasies.
