This is honestly one of my favourite webcomic about this trend.

Because that's the problem with noticing this crap: most of it is small and tiny and relatively tiny. But it's not just one thing. It's not just one instance. It's always been a pattern. Yeah, the toilet sign isn't that big of a deal. But it's a clear trend that shows a pattern of behaviour by the people who made it.

It's never just been one thing. It has always been a continued pattern.

Absolutely. All of this bullshit started as these little nothings, before they grew to what they were. Its not suddenly okay when they calm down back to the little concessions, which only seem so little because of how far the Overton Window has moved.

Its one reason why I enjoy the PC modding battleground that's cropping up. Its a much more direct message to the devs and companies that "we like this game, but hate this particular thing" instead of the classic "they didn't buy this game, better self the entire IP its worthless" generalized. As long as you pirate it, then blow the mod up, its the best way you can send a message back without supporting.

The repetition of the propaganda induces the change in behavior and thought. All minor instances of it are a threat.
