Man, that's nice to think. No britbongs, no Davos, no EU.
Fuck it, they should have gone on a rampage during the Barbary Wars. No middle east either.
Comment Reported for: Rule 2 - Violent Speech
Comment Approved: Again, not what this rule is for, also the Americans kind of lost that conflict as they were unable to install a different rule for the Barbary Caliphate, but "gone on a rampage" still wouldn't have made sense because the objective would still leave the entire middle east, and in the control of caliphs. What do you want the Americans to do exactly, conquer the Ottoman Empire? The Russians and British couldn't do that. Again, I'm lost at the sentiment.
lol someone really reported that?
Si
Wasn't possible, there was a divide not just of loyalists and separatists but even against the natives as the Indians favoured the British more as they saw them more as trading partners thanks to the fur trade.
It took the French intervention to make the the British decide that it wasn't worth the cost and for the independence to win. That put them in MASSIVE debt and later led to the French Revolution.
The problem wasn't the British, it's that the Americans didn't stick to the founding charter of their independence by the founding fathers and allowed for the slow erosion to this point. Blaming the Brits is an easy cop out for 'you weren't vigilant and let the parasites in'
Comment Reported for: Rule 2 - Violent Speech
Comment Approved: This doesn't really count as what the rule is for. Not to mention everyone in America was considered British, as it was a British colony. So I guess maybe pushing out those damned hessians might have helped, but I don't know to what end, because the comment doesn't make sense to me at all.
The major reason there was no purge after the Revolutionary War like what happens after pretty much every other revolution was because of unfettered population trading across a border that didn't exist yet - Loyalists headed north of the St Lawrence Seaway, Republicans headed south. Make of it what you will.
I would say it's more like "that's not the English way" and "It's a Liberal Revolution with a Civic National identity". There's no reason for a purge.
Shortly after the revolutionary war, Benjamin Franklin started a German newspaper. He was the same one who complained about the Germans who had migrated into the British colonies earlier.
