Universal suffrage is shit because as soon as you get honest elections the political organizations discover that the best way to manufacture votes is to import voters.
Immigration becomes first and foremost about importing the correct voting demographic to ensure the "correct" outcome of elections.
Importing them or buying them. Women vote overwhelmingly leftist because their mentality gravitates toward replacing the role of a husband with the state. Weak men vote to be mastered, they will vote themselves into chains of slavery for free shit, like what welfare has done to the black communities.
I'm not in favor of barring anyone from voting on identity grounds however (collectivism is cancer), but the natural consequence of a starship troopers system would see the kind of people with weak will excluded from the process.

The vote should be earned through personal sacrifice, heinlein style. The only country to successfully practice something resembling a democratic process and retain liberty was the united states, and we were NEVER meant to have universal suffrage - there were strict qualifications for the right to vote, originally.
They were imperfect restrictions, but the founders knew how moronic of an idea universal suffrage and direct democracy was.
I have heard of it, but Switzerland is sui generis, unfortunately. And even Switzerland has the problem of globalists breathing down its neck. While not a formal EU member, it has to abide by a lot of crap from the EU.
It's not possible to be a healthy fish in heavily polluted water, unfortunately.
But I do agree that Switzerland is way better than any other Western country.
