I don't think so. They don't have a motive as far as I know. They're just using the guy's odd looks and the lack of (known) motive to whip up another moral panic about incels. My personal theory is that the guy is a would be serial killer who wanted to use his criminology knowledge to commit the "perfect crime" but ended up fucking it up. I think he would have become a serial killer had he not gotten caught this time. But that's just my personal theory. It makes more sense than the incel angle, that's for sure.

Or he could have been crazy and imagined a relationship with the victim that wasn't there. That's relatively common.
