This isn't totally on topic but has anyone else noticed all the talentless bimbos being promoted in country music? Carrie Underwood is a one hit wonder whose 15 minutes of fame should have ended in 2006 and Miranda Lambert doesn't even have that going for her. It's no secret that good looking women are overrepresented in the entertainment industry, but can't they at least pick good looking women who have talent? I can think of 3 female artists who deserve more airtime on my local country radio station, but they don't get it because they're being drowned out by these thots.
Maybe my info is out of date, but my understanding is that country was overtaken by pop music that’s been branded to rural or rural leaning white women. Like how black pop singers get to call it RnB.
Wasn’t there a guy on youtube a few years back that outed the all the periods top country tracks as like the same song and beat?
Yeah, pop country has definitely overtaken the industry. That's not an unqualified negative (it can draw people into the genre who didn't grow up listening to it) but the real stuff gets buried, especially if you don't seek it out.
The worst was sitting down to talk with my mom while she was watching one of them stupid award shows and I don't know which dumb whore it was but she and all her shrieking friends were hanging out of a fucking whorehouse set but none of them looked like vintage prostitutes. They all had jean skirts with a little frilly on the hem and some kind of frilly jean top and chunky boots. They look like bar flies not prostitutes from the old west. The song sounded nothing like country it was just some bitch shrieking and her fucking backup singer shrieking back at her.
Like that fucking king simp song Wait in the Truck
Ugh, that one is vile. It's the one song that causes me to change the radio station. Lainey Wilson said it's about causing abusers to be afraid or some shit like that. They already have plenty of reason to be afraid considering the living hell domestic violence courts put men through, and all that takes is an accusation, false or not. Why would I want to listen to a song about a guy who gets life in prison for getting between a woman and the piece of shit she chose? She didn't even put out for him. If they wanted to make it realistic the girl should have stabbed him from behind after he gunned down the wife beater. That's why cops hate domestic calls more than anything else.
What's it matter. Country has been dead for a long time and the shit they're putting out is so fucking formulaic you can almost predict what the next line will be. Country music used to be about emotion now it's about empowering dumb whores and reinforcing the stereotypes of dumb fucking rednecks with big trucks who grew up in the suburbs.
Stopped listening to new country on the radio. Now my truck only plays George, Hank Jr, Toby Keith (pretty funny), Brooks & Dunn, Reba, Tammy Wynette, Tonya Tucker, Don Williams, Waylon, Willie, and Merle
Simple lesson. Cater to people who actually like your product. If you think you can get a new audience by all means go for it but once you see they aren’t interested then move on. If only comic books had done that with those who thought there was a massive untapped market of female readers.
So glad I listen to old country. There are Sone good new artists but not many.

Carrie Underwood is a good singer. Fame is another thing entirely

I kind of want to see this train wreck now.

I'm a little bit country
And I'm a little bit rock and roll
When we come together, we're gonna rock your front hole
