still quite a bit. Growing up I read so many out of order and read whatever I could find. I have some of the comics but there are a massive amount to go through as well as the Old Republic era.
Indeed it's kind of funny that I said I didn't read much EU and went on to list 15 books. Relatively, that's not much, I suppose. I read none of the Vong stuff, for example.
You should at least read Vector Prime if you decide to check out NJO. It is 19 books. Then Legacy of the Force, Fate of the Jedi, and the Crucible is the final one before Disney purchased it. Also Kenobi is a good read. Basically Kenobi watching out for Luke but gets sucked into a local squabble between the farmers and Tusken Raiders. Basically what disney should've done without their obsession with having females who are the real lead.
I will say that with New Jedi Order some didn't like it due to the deaths and the fact that it is kind of like a horror story in the Star Wars universe. For Vector Prime Mark Hamill did a voiceover commercial as Luke.
