I've got news for you: Women have always been this way.

The only difference now is that the material prosperity of our society enable them to subsist without direct material support from men, so they no longer depend on having a husband for their livelihood. And men agreed to change all of our laws and undermine all of our institutions in order to accommodate this new material reality.
