While I do agree a bit, the way death is glorified nowadays makes it not as bad as living to most people. In most religions you get a perk for dying, whether it be "entering heaven" to spiritual enlightenment to "72 virgins". The whole "pro-death" thing is just another movement designed to strip people of what their brain perceives as common sense, from the gay pride stuff ("maybe having unprotected sex by sticking your dick where a guy just shit isn't the best idea" ) to abortion ("we should save our children and not frivelously kill them" ). While this isn't the last bridge that should not be crossed, it's getting close. Once they can convince people that consent is optional and not mandatory expect them to just start murdering people en-masse under the guise of them being a threat to national security.

Most religions also make sure to have clauses that require you to do things in life to earn any of those after life benefits. Suicide, even assisted suicide, is often one of the disqualifiers on top of it.
Also the only reason people see death as not as bad is because, unlike most of history, its relatively rare to see. So they don't understand the gravitas of it until they are in midair off the building, which we have legions of Golden Gate Jump survivors who told us all they immediately changed their mind.
