If I've said it once I've said it a thousand times: Hungary and the Hungarian people are the most underrated key pieces to Europe's thriving nature. They've fought the Huns from the east, they were the holding point to stop the Turks to the south, they were THE first nation to rise up and revolt against the Soviets to the north, and now they're staunchly and blatantly a splinter that exists in contrast to the desired globohomo demands from the western Americans. When it's all said and done we owe the Magyar people our continued survival.
Same reason the Germans were called "Huns." Association. The Hungarian plains have always been a base of operations for nomads from the east attacking further west into Europe. Germany is "east'" of Britain and America and just as aggressive during WW1 and 2. They're all Huns to us!
It's complicated, historians aren't 100% sure where the Magyar (Hungary is what Romans called them) people came from and there's dispute how many Hungarians there ever were at any one point in time, although Central Asia is one prominant point that they are considered coming from. With that and also their propensity to conduct light horseback raids, it's even more confusing what the difference between them and the Huns are.
they were THE first nation to rise up and revolt against the Soviets to the north
I believe that was the Germans. 1953 and all that.
But you are correct on your broader point. They and Poland punch way above their weight in Europe, much more than richer and more populated countries, which is why the EU is obsessed with destroying them and their culture.
NATO should be dissolved, not expanded. NATO no longer has a reason to exist since the USSR ceased to exist, and its continued existence and expansion has been a cancer on the West.

Credit where it is due.
