Marriage isn't monogamy dodobrain. Its a formerly religious, now governmental ceremony acknowledging a commitment to one person monogamously.

Now, do you think that maybe people might not want to sign serious commitments (in which women often steal all your shit) and have the government involved, when they could just be monogamous entirely without it?
