This wasn't a thing a century ago when the nuclear family was king and EVERYONE had access to guns.
This wasn’t the norm pre columbine and was still pretty rare after it for a while.
And the most irritating things about the gun aspect is there is no real leap in tech on our guns since vietnam. The weapon tech we have now is old enough to be a grandparent. But our media and the left blame them for all of this and not their failed policies and failed anti family and anti responsibility culture they decide to promote.
It's still not that common. It seems common because they report every single one all day every day for a week.
If it was, say, as common as gangland shootings in Chicago you'd never hear about it because it wouldn't be news.
Yes and no. It wasn't the norm in schools, but shootings by disgruntled postal workers were a thing, giving rise to the term "going postal."
