The northerners apparently have no idea or frame of reference. You see this in their articles where they talk about how they grew up looking down at the black people that lived over the tracks in their separate neighborhood. I grew up in the south where black people participating in pretty much everything I did my whole life was normal and expected. Yet I'm the bad one.
The most segregated groups I have found are in the north. It's weird how much the south is talked about from ideas made 60 years ago.

The only frame of reference is the segregation they see, and being told it's worse in the south.
