So for Christmas along with buying the usual gift cards for the family I like to get myself a book series. I also decided to buy my first Manga. With the Manga I decided to see if I can find a cheap copy of Fist of the Notth Star since I saw it a few months ago and love it. If I can’t find it I’ll get Robotech since it’s the first anime I ever was exposed to thanks to my older brother.
I’ve been debating between the Witcher or Elric books. I’ve been told since I like Conan and Ice and Fire books I’d love Elric but since Witcher is being butchered I kinda want to read it (similar reason why I bought Wheel of Times books when the show was announced). I eventually plan on getting the other book series in early spring but which should I buy first?
Cool! Thanks. What sucks about the show is that I remember Cavill being so passionate about it an instead of utilizing his knowledge they decided to do their own thing
I liked the first 2 Witcher books, 3 through 7 (the Witcher saga) i found terribly disappointing.
Elric books were fantastic when i read them 20 odd years ago.
It also doesn't have much in terms of the later overarching plot, as far as I remember, so you can easily not read the rest.
The Last Wish can indeed be treated as just a collection of short stories, but those stories do lay down the foundation of the saga and load up the Chekhov's guns (especially in "The Question of Price").
Absolutely possible as I have read it years ago.
