Pretty sure China took down their own tech industry with the constant bizarre rule changes.

Tencent was worth 600HKD before that, now it's only 250HKD, same dramatic falls with Meituan, Alibaba, JD[.]com, Sina Weibo and Baidu. Even those producing actual products like Xiaomi and Lenovo fell hard way before the US did anything.
