One is a horrifying story of hideous mutants that threaten all mankind.
The other is a movie about giant ants.
The second one is essentially harmless, too. An ant body that large simply wouldn't have enough strength to support itself. Insect bodies and chitin carapaces don't really work outside of the realm of the minuscule.
A lot of the bodies on the left are too large to support themselves too.
Maybe they exist in a 75% oxygen test environment?
A super-heavily-oxygen-loaded air environment can facilitate the growth of fairly large insects, far beyond what our square-cube law allows for with our paltry percentage.
I'm not just talking about growth. I'm talking about how they just don't have the muscle mass. Their types of bodies only work with small sizes.
