Capitalism versus communism is a false dichotomy. Unrestrained capital will trend towards complete global homogenization in order to maximize aggregate demand and simplify production. The resulting dissolution of culture and nations is indistinguishable from communism. This becomes readily apparent once you realize public ownership of corporations, the stock market, has resulted in the people owning the means of production under a dictatorship of proletarianized elites.
Its one of those dichotomy that almost feels like its forced into our heads to keep us from working towards actual beneficial change.
In the same way that you must either be Abolish Police or Blue Line, or climate change is a lie vs we will die soon from it, and so many others. Everyone gets put into a bubble where they instinctually reject fixing a problem because it sounds like the opposite side soft selling them.
The government doesn't own Big Tech. Big Tech (unrestrained capitalism) has bought the government. China isn't producing your stuff by communism, nor are they propagating Belt & Road and buying up non-Chinese land with it. EULA's, TOS's, and policy override the law of the land.Capitalism is about the only working economical system but it's still the least worst, and needs brakes not to become monopolies, corruption, oligarkies and corpotocracy. Besides, many people say they're against something, then go ahead and use or buy corporate products that are complicit in the very thing that person is against.
I gave up trying to explain that very point
