If they were so hard pressed to have black people make up a show around the Summer Isles. The whole “needs to reflect the modern world” is such an idiotic explanation and shows you have no creativity. Make your own show with all the diversity you want.
Dude, a fantasy show about various African folklore would be great and probably sell like hot cakes but the studios know they'll get more views by race-swapping established lore and characters. It's honestly kind of sad.
Yep. I mean every culture has some sort of folklore or mythology. But as long as diversity is valued over good stories this will continue. I would say I’ll read the book but I’m still mad at GRRM for taking forever on main series
Further, they're never going to allow blacks any kind of identity other than oppressed descendants of slaves. They do not want to lose their golem by instilling some kind of moral or ethical racial pride.
