The US regime has alienated the demographic the military has depended on to fight every war in US history, including modern wars like Iraq and Afghanistan: young white Christian men.
Why would you fight for a country that calls you hateful, privileged, etc?
Why would you fight for a country that is trying to remove you from positions of power and turn you into a second class citizen in your own country?
Why would you fight for a country that fought and blocked the president you overwhelming elected in every possible way?
Tradition still carries some weight (especially in the Marine Corps) as does economic desperation.
