Well there won't be a revolution of a handful of cranks. At minimum, it would be essentially the Republicans divorcing from the Democrats, meaning a number of Red states seceding, and I'm talking about what would happen if the Blues tried to occupy a Red-majority area.
REPUBLICANS doing a thing? The most useless political party probably in human history. That'll be a sight.
If that were to happen, I'd do something even more unlikely than that: say a nice word about Republicans.
I think the whole 'secession' thing is fighting the last war. The reason secession was even possible in 1860-1, was because the feds did not have a standing army. Now they do. I think the Reds who are soldiers are brainwashed with phony patriotism (loyalty to the state rather than the nation) enough to obey orders and take the lands that have seceded.
I don't mean to be my usual morale-destroyer. I just don't see this path as viable. Taking on the modern state is close to impossible. Even the examples where people think that happened are in reality quite different: Hitler came to power with the help of German elites, Adenauer reintegrated Nazis into the FGR after the war, the fall of communism did not lead to the fall of the Nomenklatura.
I don't think it's possible in my country, with a pitifully small army, let alone the world's foremost imperial power.
The most useless political party probably in human history.
Have you followed the news in Florida and Texas at all? Republicans have been racking up wins left and right. Plus taking control of the Supreme Court means we are in for some big changes to long-standing libtard norms.
The reason secession was even possible in 1860-1, was because the feds did not have a standing army. Now they do.
That's irrelevant. Any secession scenario would be driven by Red State governors coming together peacefully and declaring a united front against the enforcement of some fed law. Then the ball shifts to the feds to impose their will, only to have the local states basically refuse to cooperate, triggering a Constitutional crisis.
If the Blues back down, we end up with a mostly peaceful national divorce where the power of the feds is sharply eroded in favor of the states.
If the Blues do something like order the arrest of Red State governors for defying them, then we have a civil war, and it begins with local law enforcement arresting the fed agents and the governors activating their national guards. Said national guards would then refuse to obey the feds [who legally have ultimate authority over them] to stand down.
At that point it would be "we dare you to attack us" to the Blues. If they foolishly attack, they'd lose. Mass defections would take place as whole bases and units switched sides to the Red states. Blue officers and generals in Red states, if they had not evacuated already, would be arrested. Orders from Washington DC would be ignored. The whole fed government would be paralyzed and in chaos for weeks or months, which is plenty of times for the Reds to organize.
Attempts at special forces raids would end up as total debacles and failures. Conventional military attacks would galvanize the Red States into a mobilization. The Blues, while they love to screech online, are culturally fundamentally cowards who don't have a tenth the will to fight and die for their beliefs that the Reds do.
Cut off from the tax revenue and resources of most of the country, the bloated Fed government would collapse. US government debt would collapse into junk bond status. They could not afford to keep paying their bloated federal bureaucracy. The federal government in many ways would cease to exist, Washington DC would become a loud and whiny place that nobody listened to. Blue state governors would pay lip service to following the feds, but once the collapse became the talk of the media, the Blue states would selfishly withhold taxes too, completing the fall.
I think the Reds who are soldiers are brainwashed with phony patriotism (loyalty to the state rather than the nation) enough to obey orders and take the lands that have seceded.
You're wrong, and quite frankly, not being an American you're so far outside any modicum of expertise here that you should not give your opinion any weight. You know nothing of what it means to be a conservative or right wing in America in 2022 if you think we are blind statists. How can you be so online and yet not have even paid attention to the COVID debacle?
I don't mean to be my usual morale-destroyer. I just don't see this path as viable. Taking on the modern state is close to impossible.
I'm laughing at how competent and powerful you think the modern federal state is. It's not. It's a corrupt, bloated, house of cards. “We have only to kick in the door,” Hitler Rand Paul said, “and the whole rotten structure will come crashing down.” The US feds rely on leeching extraordinary power and money off of the states because slowly, over the course of generations, we let power consolidate too much. But now we are seeing how much of a mistake that was, which is why you already see Republicans fighting back at a state level.
This is why you're a socialist. You're in awe of the government. As someone who has dealt with the government a great deal through the legal system, I can confidently say that the government is a fucking mess, and it attracts some of the laziest, most selfish, spoiled people who exist. These aren't the best and the brightest, and they only care about themselves. Most of the bureaucracy is really just leeches.
Case in point: Uvalde. A huge number of cops weren't willing to fight one kid, even to save little kids. Why? Because they're coward bureaucrats sucking the taxpayer teat. How can you look at THAT, armed men who are SUPPOSED to be fighting and risking their lives, and then think that the feds would show more courage and valor than that? hahahah. No.
And Waco? Fed shock troops LOST to some cultists, and then were too scared to attack again, and then finally only killed them using the cowardly tactic of arson and burning their buildings down since the feds couldn't win a straight fight. And this was with huge fed resources against a small isolated cult. You think the feds could fight a city with 1,000 Red insurgents who hide in the civilian population and only pop up for ambushes? They'd get clowned like you wouldn't believe.
Blues LOVE to impose their power when they feel totally safe and in total control. But the moment you push back and make them feel afraid and unsafe, they utterly collapse. Just look at how they reacted to little things like depicting Mohammad. Now, you might say "well but they REALLY fucking hate MAGA Republicans! so they WOULD fight them even though they are cowards in every other scenario." I don't think the human might works that way. A coward does not become brave just because he's angry or more hateful. Just look at Antifa and what utter clowns they are once they run into anyone capable of fighting back. Those are the most hateful, most motivated shock troops of the Left, and they couldn't fight a grandma if she stood her ground unless it was like 10 on 1.
If the reds unite and have support of the population, yes. I am thinking of more realistic scenarios.
