Part of the reason the left hates Russia is because it has doubled down on its Orthodox roots, in the last decade…
This is also why they hate Lebanese Christians (this is your area of expertise, no?), Syrian Christians, and fucking White South African farmers for that matter…
I mean really, the only thing that should surprise you about this is the ignorance. The wild hypocrisy and inconsistency definitely should not, lol…
More generally: the left now pretty much hates anyone who isn’t a) a leftist, b) an atheist, c) a woke corporate/academic, d) a Buddhist or e) a Muslim…
I suppose Black Christians get included in that, too. Because “logic”…

Some people claim that the whole anti-Russia thing started with the passage of the "anti-gay" law disallowing spreading homosexual propaganda to minors. That was in 2013 I think. Before that, it was the Mitt Romney types obsessing over Russia.

I would not take Supreme's ravings too seriously. He was our best contributor on the subreddit, but the man has gone crazy with grief over the situation that he cheers the "slaughter" of Russians whom he calls "orcs". I have only ever revealed my general location and the general location where I'm from, simply as a security measure. It would be far too easy to find out who I am otherwise. Hopefully, he'll go back to his old self soon.
But yes, they don't give a damn about Christians in the Middle East, while supposedly standing for those who are "powerless". The trick is to say that Christians hold "power in the world", so you're then fine with oppression of some of the most persecuted people in the world. At least one of them argued in 2014 that ISIS' massacres were justified because of the Crusades (because they're stupid enough to think that ME Christians are descendants of the Crusaders).

Oh, they hate Buddhists in Myanmar...

Oh, it's easy. Most Black Christians support their agenda, so they're friends, and they're good. If they changed their minds and opposed their agenda, they'd flip the switch and they'd go to enemies instantenously. Black Christians are the real white supremacists.
"You mean they're not going to their deaths for rainbow flags and transing kids? FUCK THEM!"
These people are truly incredible.
I actually don’t think this is that surprising…

Wut? That should be the least surprising thing about regressives.
