I think that will not matter. If people cannot afford to keep their home warm or to buy food, regardless of whether the government is responsible for it, they will turn against their government.
Yea, since most people have been to taught to be some sort of pseudo ward of the state where it is the state duty to fix their problems it does not matter if it was the state that created it, however the states solution to these problems can be worse than the disease...
