Nowadays it is expected that every high-ranking politician is compromised in some way, especially if they claim to represent the right wing. Yet for once, DeSantis's recent decisions don't seem like controlled opposition or empty promises.
No matter how you look at it, shipping immigrants directly to Martha's Vineyard is not a token gesture. MV is a true stronghold of the elite. Obama, Bill Gates, these are not B-listers.
Now we've all seen this play out one too many times, me included, so it's very tempting to simply assume the black-pilled position. There is some perverted sense of comfort in that position, to never be unpleasantly surprised. But... maybe uncucked politicians are sometimes allowed to keep operating?
He shows great promise , but isn't the man America needs on a national stage, his work setting an example to other governors is too important.
On a national stage you need an absolute butcher, someone filled with vengeance that won't compromise and just gut the entire system from the ground up.
I'm betting we'll see the CIA get involved like with JFK.
They won't. The CIA assassinated JFK because he opposed a nuclear-armed Israel and was going to dismantel the intelligence agencies because they were compromised. Deshabbos tried to make it a hate crime to speak ill of the Israeli government, he's not getting the JFK treatment.
They'd love to but (or thankfully) public trust is so low and the current climate is a powderkeg, any attempt at that would lead to immediate gloves off insurgencies as it would be seen by many as any peaceful opposition would be met by force so why bother, go full militant
And for all the boasting of "you need F-16s and nukes to oppose the government", an insurgency taliban or vietcong style would destabilise the current government immediately.
