About 10 years ago, I ended up with my computer in a room that had no wiring for the TV. Overnight, my consumption of television went to absolute zero.
I've often wondered how big a part that minor event played in my journey away from leftism.
Also, top fucking kek at calling 'media + banks' an 'anti-semitic trope' without any mention of the Jews having been made. A tacit admission of who controls those things.
Yeah, once you have Rowdy Roddy's glasses, it's amazing at just how fugly monkeypigkind really is.
As for Coronation Street, it seems to be what people watch when they get old, senile, and ready for death. I told my husband to fucking shoot me if he ever finds me watching it.
"ideas above their station", oh, bollocks. Soap operas were slow-paced continuing stories that could be followed along without really paying much attention to them. They were practically designed to "putter around" to. What really caught their attention was the morning game shows (which were pretty darned insipid in their own right). Older retirees might have sat down and actually watched them, and then you had goofy teenagers who were into General Hospital for a while, but really, they were just background stuff that you listened to more than watched for most women who had stuff to do. Hell, you have YouTubes or podcasts that are basically just for that sort of thing today.
