Lets be honest, they did not make a historical accurate movie. They are not going to allow the all women fighters fight for slavery not against it. Also they are not going to show them as the incompetent bafoons that they were.
Not sure what the exact timeframe of the movie is, but I'm betting they'll also leave out the Battle of Adégon, where the French launched a bayonet charge at a Dahomey force consisting primarily of Agojie. Over 500 Dahomey died, over 400 of which were women. 6 French died.

I heard 1820s. It's before the First Franco-Dahomean war, so it's unclear to me what the historical context for the film is, if any
