8 Say it isn't so! A woman described as a “hardworking woman that has her priorities in line” on her business website that "connects investors with small businesses through 'merchant cash advance'" was a grifter. $196 mill from 'small businesses' in south Florida? Any bets on how much drug money? (archive.ph) posted 2 years ago by GeneralBoobs 2 years ago by GeneralBoobs +9 / -1 6 comments share 6 comments share save hide report block hide replies
I swear every rich "self-made" woman turns out to be some kind of scammer.
OneCoin, Theranos...there are definitely more, but I can't remember them.
If I remember correctly, the closest to a self-made successful woman who hasn't been an obvious con artist is the CEO of AMD.
Theranos had a conceptual product. It just needed a couple decades of engineering to deliver a tenth of what they promised.
It was the sort of idea that a more disciplined VC might have managed to wring some money out of through patent licensing.
Rowling wasn't a scammer, she was just really good at writing things kids could easily understand.
I still don't believe she wrote the books. The male characters are too human to come from someone with her warped beliefs.
