The same thing that has worked for all high cultures, heterosexual marriage.
Hasn't worked for 40 years now.
It hasn't been working for 70 years because that is when the sexual revolution started replacing it. There was also an attempt to break it in the 20s, but the depression reeled that back.
No, no, for once I'm not talking about women's "loyalty". This is a purely facts based argument.
Marriage in the past was considered a fair deal because you got someone who would help out around the house, doing chores that would take hours if you did them yourself.
But now, I don't need someone to stay home and do that for me. I can set all the appliances on before I go to work, and even at current energy prices, it's still far, far cheaper than providing for a whole extra person. That's not counting the lack of stress caused because you don't have to worry about drama she causes.
There is no reason to get married other than "tradition" and I don't think God will send you to hell for refusing to participate in this rigged system.
