The backlash has nothing to do with race and everything to do with the premise.
I guarantee if you look at the people complaining, none of them are black.
Same reason they get so mad about To Kill A Mockingbird - because it portrays women in a light that counters years of propaganda, but can't be cancelled because it's a key part of history that healed racial divisions.
Feminists built a whole propaganda apparatus that is built around quick indoctrination of children, and it doesn't cope with cracks in the facade well.
I'm surprised they haven't tried to cancel MacBeth, the story of an evil woman who pushed her husband to kill so she could have a higher status.
I don't (completely) agree with a lot of what you say but I think you're right about this. Well, it's about race as well but I think the premise is also unforgivable in their eyes, they're just less overt about calling it out because it reveals some uncomfortable truths.
Portraying women as less than virtuous is a no no. The new comic still does that, but now it's no longer obvious. His own ineptitude might be what saves him, because there's blood in the water and I would otherwise expect open season to be declared.
The problem really boils down to the Left’s inability to view individuals as individuals. They only see people as representatives of a group.
Actually, it boils down even further…
The problem with the Left, at its core, is their total divorcement from reality. They’ve somehow lost their connection to the human experience. They’re merely NPCs acting out a script that has been handed to them. They only understand the concept of “man” and “woman” and “black” and “white” by the script they were handed, not through any real human experience. Their understanding is shallow and cold… there’s no depth of color or life to these concepts as they perceive them.
