This is a common tactic with media. The media says "Right wing conspiracy theory says" followed by something false. But that falsehood is not the same thing as right wingers are saying. Perhaps "straw man" is the right thing to call this tactic. They poo-poo a bad idea that they themselves made up.
I haven't heard anyone claim they're forcing these politicians to go along with their agenda, but in some cases they probably are via blackmail.
Either way it's obvious what's happening and the WEF even brags about it.
