Yeah that deal is a win win for Russia and a lose lose for US

Deal goes through: Russia proves it's loyal to its own and will find a way to assist while US looks like they'll only do anything to free their own considering the trapped in Afghanistan

Deal doesn't go through: Russia looks "tough on crime" and keep a piece in play, US looks impotent
