It's almost kind of an acquired taste. I got into it kind of slowly, too, same with King of the Hill. It's probably that "why aren't these live-action?" vibe, but once you watch it, yeah, it's better off as a cartoon, heh. Especially with the one-off, more surreal episodes (mostly literal fever dreams. Which leads me to wonder what they would have done, surrealism-wise, if late-season Night Court had been a cartoon ...)
I guess I can identify with Bob Belcher because of the way his family and friends rope him into stupid shit he'd rather not do and knows it'll go to hell (take a shot/toke every time he says "Oh, God.") when he just wants to make burgers and get by quietly.

Well I did love Night Court. I live in Texas and while King of the Hill is great, I think it’s even funnier when you are aware of Texas culture
