Because modern therapy is based off methods designed to treat women by talking about something face to face. Men don't do this.
Men share problems the same way they share burdens: shoulder to shoulder.
If you are a guy and one of your friends is going through shit the second best thing you can do is not ask about it. The best thing you can do is spend time with your friend doing stuff like hiking/exercising until he feels ready to bring up whatever is going on. But I bet you he won't be facing you when he starts talking about it and might never do.
Exactly. Talking is overrated. Much of it is pointless fluff. Taking your buddy out shooting, going to the gym or a sauna together is much more effective at reducing stress.
Men don't need therapy.
For a man, therapy is going into your garage and scratch building a bike rack out of scrap. Or walking up a mountain.
"Captain Kirk is climbing the mountain, why is he climbing the mountain?"
Because Shatner saw himself getting old as fuck and he needed to remind himself he was still alive and still able to do things.
"To challenge the rock. Challenge death."
No man needs to sit on a couch and have some Jewish woman tell him about his toxic masculinity.
Masculinity is the CURE, not the poison.
Some people need therapy to be told that, though many therapists today might do more harm that good.
