Are you comparing selective breeding done over generations to some guy in a lab trying to make plants taste like meat?
There are no laboratories or research done on growing plants that taste like meat. And laboratory research on plants changes far less genes than selective breeding or interbreeding. Oranges comes from tangerines and lemons crossbreeding. You would never have oranges without that.
Your logic also dictates no sweet potato consumption, since sweet potato is a breed between a bacteria and potato.
We had sweet potatoes 5000 years ago, we just used selective breeding to get the modern version like everything we grow and cultivate now.
The difference is who do you trust to be in charge of this process? A guy in a lab coat or a farmer that's worked the land for generations.
5000 years of a bacterial use on a potato. And the people who cross bred this species to existence were the scientists of the past. Albeit the sweet potato came to be more without human intervention. Like I said, you have been eating them for a millenia and no problem whatsoever.
You seem to think that somehow millions or thousands of genes being modified instead of one or two is better or safer.
Do you want a bridge? I am selling one. Barely used.
Can i put a toll on it? And is their another crossing nearby?
You seem to be avoiding the current question with mockery, do you trust the CURRENT users of genetic manipulation.
Cause if so, I have a vaccine to give to you, don't worry it's highly effective at 40% with no side effects apart from the ones you'll find out later.
