We had sweet potatoes 5000 years ago, we just used selective breeding to get the modern version like everything we grow and cultivate now.
The difference is who do you trust to be in charge of this process? A guy in a lab coat or a farmer that's worked the land for generations.
5000 years of a bacterial use on a potato. And the people who cross bred this species to existence were the scientists of the past. Albeit the sweet potato came to be more without human intervention. Like I said, you have been eating them for a millenia and no problem whatsoever.
You seem to think that somehow millions or thousands of genes being modified instead of one or two is better or safer.
Do you want a bridge? I am selling one. Barely used.
Can i put a toll on it? And is their another crossing nearby?
Yes, you can place, tolls, ads... anything!
This deal sounds too good to be true! Is it near a good neighborhood?
You seem to be avoiding the current question with mockery, do you trust the CURRENT users of genetic manipulation.
Cause if so, I have a vaccine to give to you, don't worry it's highly effective at 40% with no side effects apart from the ones you'll find out later.
Yes, I do trust them but cause it takes you years to get a gmo to human consumption. Not like this vaccine. And the people who researches gmos are different from the ones who rrsea ches this vaccine. You are also avoiding the question, and the argument do you consume sweet potato and oranges and bananas? If so, you are a hypocrite.
You are also literally comparing apples to rocks.
You are just arguing in bad faith using the "gotcha questions" with oranges and sweet potatos which is why I don't bother with it
And the vaccine is a great example they took years to develop but recently they just skipped all that and sent them straight out, do you think they aren't going to try that with modified foods under the pretense "there's a global food shortage (because we bought all the farmland) so we need to get this new plant out that has higher yields and safe for consumption (maybe).
