The dude would be a shoe in if Trump wasn't sucking all the oxygen out of the room. The base would back DeSantis in a heartbeat if Trump didn't run.

Frankly Trump is doing DeSantis a favor right now, in all likelihood the left is going to go full fever pitch on trump during the primaries leaving DeSantis an opening as tamer Trump. The reality is the second DeSantis becomes the de facto top dog the false rape accusations and slander will start pouring out.
