Even setting aside the social impacts of the birth control pill, it has strong impacts on the bodies of the women who take it, impacts that are not talked about. Furthermore, since these hormones are detected downstream in the water supply, I believe that there are environmental problems that are just barely understood. It wouldn't surprise me at all if we eventually came to realize that the birth control hormones that women piss out and ends up back in the water supply are to blame for the declining sperm counts and testosterone levels in men.
Well, Nature has always had ways to control out-of-control species; humans were bound to bite themselves in their own uppity asses.
