I checked out some of my favorite youtubers to see if the Kenobi leaks were true and I guess I shouldn't be surprised they were. I cancelled Disney plus a while back and decided to stick with pre-Disney Star Wars like episodes 1-6 and the EU/Legends.
I guess at one point I would've been surprised that Leia would feature so prominently but now it is pretty obvious that writers today cannot write a female character to save their lives. Every female has to be shoehorned in so they can show how much better than men they are. Also they knew that Reva would make viewers roll their eyes so they had to play the race card again. I mean the formula for Disney is pretty obvious now. Market a show based on a male character, only to have that show be all about a much more capable female.
There was a book called Kenobi written by John Jackson Miller where Kenobi is watching over Luke from a distance and trying to keep a low profile but gets involved in a conflict between the local farmers and Tusken Raiders. Definitely would've made more sense from a lore perspective.
I'm still ashamed that when I heard that Disney bought Star Wars I thought they could do good things with it. I thought that they would adapt the EU. When they wiped that out I figured they could've at least used it for streaming content by doing a NJO animated mini series like how DC has animated movies in an alternate timeline. Then I learned that they threw out GL's outline too.
I gave their books a chance and read the awful Aftermath trilogy and I even liked mandalorian but I liked it less once I realized that everything was headed to the sequel trilogy (I stupidly let myself believe they would retcon it).
Like I said, there is a lot of EU content I haven't checked out yet like the Old Republic books and comics.
They were mostly true. Reva was apparently supposed to die “heroically” by the end, but she survives everything somehow. She had worst injuries than Qui Gon but she made it out unscathed.
I heard they want her for a spin-off. I used to be excited for anything Star Wars and now I know they are making a movie that takes place past the sequels and I don't care. There was a time where I would be first in line at midnight.
I wonder if there were people who thought they were going to actually get a show that focused on Obi-Wan.
It focused on obi-wan being a simp and dodging his way out of every scene so a female could be featured instead.
Accurate to the person who plays him then.
Twice.
She was stabbed once as a kid by Anakin when he raged on the younglings, and once as an adult by Darth Vader. The Disney Star Wars defenders claimed that the inquisitor could survive being stabbed in the stomach because his species had two stomachs (LOL at that argument). They were then fairly quiet when Reva got stabbed in the stomach (twice) and survived (twice). I guess she used her super black whamen powers. Apparently Qui-Gon saw the future and just noped out of Star Wars.
Unfortunately not true any more.
