Obviously it would be absurd to suggest that he's received any of his roles for any reason other than talent, or that his current mental and emotional instability might be the result of something that happened to him when he was a kid, since nothing like that ever happens in Hollywood.
This might also explain why he's still being protected in the Industry: some pretty powerful people in Hollywood could possibly have reason afraid of what he might say if his protection is withdrawn.
Maybe he just tows the line. There's some interview for a dc film where he's sitting next to Gal Gadot and he's smugly telling directly at the camera "we're coming for you, white people". He pushes it so much that Gal is clearly uncomfortable.
