I've got this book called The Language Police about political groups pushing textbook publishers to change their books. in the appendix, there's about 11 pages listing all the images that can't be used. Most of it's the usual suspects, but not all. Some go the other way ("Don't show a rainbow in a photograph (gay agenda)") and some are neutral ("Dogs and cats should not be on the furniture.").
I'm guessing some parent who has a rule in their house that animals don't go on the furniture got upset because such pictures were teaching their kids bad habits.

Why shouldn't dogs or cats be shown on furniture?

Imagine being so bad at disciplining your own children that you have to have publishers censor their shit so you don't have to say no.
